Curriculum

Patriot Academy

Patriot Academy will provide a strong Back-to-Basics curriculum including: Spalding Phonics,
Six Trait Writing, Open Court Reading, Saxon Math, and Core Knowledge Social Studies,
Geography, Science, Music, & Art.  Additional resources will be used as deemed necessary.

Patriot Academy’s curriculum has been carefully chosen based upon the use of spiraling
within each grade level and articulation of the curriculum from grade to grade.  The
curriculum is unique in its use of incremental development, continual practice and review,
and frequent, cumulative assessment.  

The curriculum is taught using direct, explicit instruction and appropriate guided and
independent practice.  All elements of the curriculum produce measurable results assessed
through the use of a combination of standardized testing and assessments built into the
curriculum.  

Patriot Academy’s curriculum has been selected and developed based upon its being both
research-proven and multi-sensory.  Wherever possible, instruction will employ all the
learning modalities—Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic, and Tactile—in order to effectively reach
all learners.
