educators we know that if students do not master the basics, success in the other curricular areas is difficult. We use
the Core Knowledge Sequence and the Arizona State Standards as a guide in the arts and sciences. This provides
teachers with a guide as to what information is taught, but allows them flexibility and creativity in choosing how to present
material.
We believe children learn best in small classrooms; therefore our homeroom classes never exceed 25 students, and our
Reading and Math classes are smaller than that.
We believe children learn best when they feel safe; therefore we set high standards of behavior for all of our students
enforced with discipline that is strict, but loving and fair.
We believe children learn best when they are presented with work that is challenging, but not overwhelming; therefore
we test and ability group our students for the core subjects of Reading and Mathematics.
